Do you have FDA approval?

Yes, all components contained in EcoPure G2 are covered under FDA GRAS (Generally Regarded as Safe).  In addition, Keller and Heckman, a large FDA verification firm which oversees the EcoPure G2 additive has provided a short letter to confirm the approval of the organic compounds that make up EcoPure G2 up to a loading of 4%.

What is CA AB1972?

AB 1972 titled “Truthful Environmental Advertising for Plastics” ensures accurate environmental advertising of plastics by allowing only the use of terms that can be verified by an American Society for Testing Materials (ASTM) standard specifications.

This legislation was signed by the governor and went into effect on January 01, 2009.  This legislation was sponsored by BPI (Biodegradable Products Institute) which is a non-profit organization created by NatureWorks to support the PLA industry.  The wording of the legislation does not consider any other method of biodegradation other than professional composting.

Under the AB 1972 no labeling can use the term "biodegradable" or "degradable" but if the product passes the ASTM D 6400 for Compostable Plastics” they can use the term compostable.  ENSO Bottles believes this type of legislation hinders innovation and prevents truth in labeling by preventing consumers from knowing about the product packaging as well as to make a choice of what is better for the environment.

Do ENSO bottles qualify under state bottle laws?

ENSO bottles are made from Polyethylene terephthalate and therefore use the “#1” plastic resin code and are subject to bottle bills. ENSO Bottles encourages all customers to check the details regarding ENSO bottles qualifying under specific state legislation.  It is the responsibility of those companies using ENSO bottles to ensure compliance to any state or local bottle laws.
